It doesn’t seem to matter what you’re in to this summer, Truckee has it all!
On July 20th, you can participate in the 20th Annual Skate the Park – a fundraiser benefitting early detection of breast cancer. Skate the Lake is a 28-mile skate-bike-roll along a portion of North Lake Tahoe’s scenic shores. It promotes B4BC’s mission of early detection + a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention. For more information, check out the Eventbrite invitation.
Also, on July 20th, join fellow equestrians for a fun-filled and family-friendly evening of games, crafts, contests and a delicious barbecue dinner.
Highlights include:
- Pony rides for ages 2-6 (must weigh less than 60 pounds)
- Cornhole and roping station
- Family dress-up and photo station
- Hunt for the golden horseshoe
- Family water balloon toss
The menu features hot dogs, veggie burgers and hamburgers personalized with favorites from an extensive topping bar that includes bacon, sauteed mushrooms, avocado, veggies, cheddar, swiss and blue cheese. Additional sides and desserts include baked beans, salads, brownies and vanilla ice cream.

If dancing is your thing, check out the 10th Annual Lake Tahoe Dance Festival July 23-26. Featuring dancers from the Met Opera Ballet, Broadway, Boston Ballet, and the L.A. Dance Project amongst others, the festival continues to commission new works and present rarely-seen clssics alongside fan favorites danced by the highest caliber artists.
In downtown Truckee, every Thursday night you can enjoy dancing with live music, wine tasting, and some incredibly amazing eats! If you haven’t partied in downtown Truckee, you haven’t partied!
