After the long winter of the High Sierra, Truckee’s vistas and landscapes come alive. Transforming from winter white to the inspiring colors and sounds of spring lays the foundation for much of the local arts scene and unique mountain culture. Truckee’s creative community reawakens with an abundance of events, celebrating the beauty of the season.
The town of Truckee has declared April as Arts, Culture, and Creativity Month. Check these fabulous upcoming events:
- April 20 – The Gatsby Jazz Club (fundraiser for the Truckee High School Jazz Band
- April 20 & 21 – Spring Concert with Diablo Valley Philharmonic Orchestra
- April 24-27 – Truckee Follies (live sketch comedy (has sold out for over 35 years!)

POND SKIM – APRIL 27TH!!
Splash & Splash! Get Wet & Wild!!
Think of it as a ‘Tropical Slip-and-Slide! Get ready, the Pond Skim returns to defend the title as Tahoe’s Best End-of-Season Party. The tropical slip-and-slide action will take place on Saturday, April 27 at Sugar Bowl. Here’s what you can expect!
Timeline:
9:00am – 10:00am: Check-In on Village Deck
10:15am: Extra Spaces Released to Waitlist
11:00am – 2:30pm (ish): Pond Skim Event
30-Minutes after the end of Pond Skim: Awards on Village Deck
Located between the Nob Hill and Disney Chairlifts, this pond location allows easy access to spectators (within walking distance of the Belt Room Bar) a steep run in for ample speed, uninterrupted views of the sunny sky, and close earshot proximity to hecklers from the Nob Hill Chair lift.
